In previous years, the Square Design org has hosted its annual Design Summit at their headquarters in downtown San Francisco. Folks flew in from around the world to enjoy a week of in person events, speakers and networking. However, with COVID restrictions in place this year, it became clear the event would need to be held remotely. A small but mighty team of copywriters gathered to land on the theme of ‘Work in Progress’ for the Summit - a perfect expression of our experience both personally and professionally as creatives that year.
Myself and a small working group of designers were then tasked with developing an identity for the event, along with a fun accompanying swag ‘kit’ to be delivered to folks. Knowing how much folks were craving connection and community, we wanted the identity and swag kit to deliver some levity and joy to folks during an otherwise pretty crappy year.
